She says…
“My name is Nicky Stannage and I am a self taught artist living in East Lothian. I discovered my love and talent for art after being retired early from work in 2019 due to ill health after developing a life threatening illness. I had to shield during covid and I started to paint to relieve the pressure on my mental health. I had my first exhibition, “The Art of the Possible”, with three other artists coping with life-changing illnesses, in November 2022. I paint anything which interests me. Art transports me to a happy place where I am independent and free of pain.”
